Lake Lanier Islands, lake lanier , GA

We stayed at Lake Lanier Islands over labor day weekend. The resort bought the old state park ,
" Shoal Creek CampGround " its nicer than the campground on the resort property on friendship RD.
The views are really nice on the lake sites. We stayed in site 63 on the point, pull through.
Most of the sites there are kinda tight but spaced far apart from each other. the other sites are on the lake but a long way from the water. The sites up the hill in the group area are really big, But its a long straight down hill walk to the lake, I would'nt recommend those unless you like extreme hiking back and forth.
The site we stayed at was right on the water easy access, you could easily beach a boat there over night. protected coves on each side of the point.

The water park inside the resort is great, really clean upscale type place. lots of big boats to look at or rent if you like, they have house boats there that are bigger than my house. Would visit again .
