2010 Wildcat converter problem and also plumbed improperly, anyone else with similar

Post by newcamper on 8/29/2009, 5:30 pm

Hello, I am a new member and just purchased from Ohio a 2010 Wildcat 29rlbs. We went camping in Maryland in Frontier town great place. We had a problem with the converter it stopped working and we lost all power. This was our first time out. We ended up at Walmart and picked up a battery charger that we attached to the RV battery and the air conditioning and full power was returned. We now have to take it in for service and we still have our temporary tags.

Also, the flush for sewer water is tied into the fresh water tank and the fill for the fresh water goes into the grey water tank.

Has anyone else with a Wildcat had similar problems?

I can't say I remember anyone saying their lines where crossed up like that. I'd demand repaired lines and a new fresh water tank.

as for the converter , theres been a few on here that have crapped out quick. since yours is under warranty you shouldn't have a problem getting either issue resolved.

Did you go to RVW to buy your camper ?

I am still not sure how this forum works, it's my first time posting. Thank you for answering my post. I bought the Wildcat from Jeff Couch's RV Nation in Ohio. They are an excellent dealership, however far from New Jersey. I will find out more on Monday, when I talk with the dealership. We need to get this straigtened out. Thanks for the welcome. Hoping to get out of th cold this winter, and spend March in Florida. Have you ever camped in Fort Mountain State Park?

welcome if you do a search on "converter' you will see there have been quite a few have had the problem. Besure to pack the battery charger in the Cat on all future trips just in case the problem returns(from experience). I haven't camped at Fort Mountain State Park but have found that camping in the center of the state cost a lot less than being close to either Coast and there are still lots to see and do. Enjoy your new Cat and a Warm Florida Winter. Jim

newcamper, Welcome to the forum....

Lots of us here have the 29RLBS, questions:

Is your fresh water tank fill in the rear of the coach? thats where mine is along with the fresh water tank, what makes you think its goes to the gray tank?

My black tank flush is located below the city water connection, if you follow the piping, you see it go up into the ceiling and then come back down and through the floor in the basement going to the black tank.

Do you have an access plate in the wall that separates the bedroom from the toilet room? This is where the back flow preventer is located for the black tank flush.

You should have a pipe coming up from under the basement floor connecting to the pump, this is your fresh water line from the fresh water tank supplying fresh water to the coach when the pump is turned on.

Your plumbing problems sound interesting as the only piping to the holding tanks should be Drain lines, Flush line to black tank, and Roof Vent lines, and then the Pipes for Dumping, unless something has changed. Jim

welcome to the forum. Don't see how the tanks could be wrong. maybe just labeled wrong. If they are wrong, I hope the guy who set yours up didn't do my 2010 28 RKBS. Cool

newcamper I had the very same problem with the converter going out two days after I pickup the new camper in Aug 07. Got it replace and has work great. I always carry the battery charger with me just for protection. I don't have any problems with the piping that you are talking about. Keep us post on the out come.
