Odyssey 2009 problems

Post by gkeager on 8/25/2009, 1:19 pm

Leaving the high Uintah Mountains near Flaming Gorge, Utah we noticed a slight list on the CAT. After checking for the obvious tire problem, NOT, we noticed a broken spring shackle. We limped the 40 miles into Vernal, Utah where we talked to Don at B and D RV Center. He did a quick inspection and suggested a "full" shackle replacement. Some two hours later we were back on the road, safely, enjoying the drive to Grand Junction. Due to the size of the burg and its remoteness I expected the worst. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! Inspection of the removed parts clearly showed that a "full" replacement was necessary. All of the shackles, bushings and bolts were worn and close to failure. Don's suggestion and repairs could have saved us from a disasterous occurence down the road. Thanks to him for his keen insight. Also thanks for a rather modest charge and the prompt and courtious service. If the need should arise, I highly recommend this establishment. Cool

Wow , lots of Shackle failures, might as well replace those everytime you grease the bearings. unless you have the expensive kind.

Glad you guys made it out with no major " on the road " failures.
