Replacement for entertainment center
Yep, our concertone is on it's last leg, our dvd's keep skipping and stopping during the movie.
Hoping some one can recommend a replacement. We are hoping we can find one that has the options the concertone did. radio, 12V, surround, etc.
any one have any good replacements?
thanks so much in advance for our help.
Hope everyone has been enjoying the camping season.
(we will be going to Cherokee,TN in Sept. for a week We can not wait....)
safe/enjoyable camping to all
thanks
Bert

I take it you are out of warranty? I think Jensen is the only company out there producing an all-in-one product without having to piece together components for each function (at 12V).

If your outta warranty , and don't won't to spend the money, grab a spare DVD player from the house and plug it into the Concertone and use the surround. Better yet get a BlueRay....
We use the XBox for the movies. I've never even tried the CT player disks.

Re: Replacement for entertainment center
Thanks to all of you for your great suggestions. We really like that JENSEN, but it doesn't have surround sound and yes we are spoiled.....hahaha
We still got a warranty but the hassle from the other items that needed fixed was a long hard battle......
We will figure out something.
Thanks again to everybody for your help.
happy & safe camping to all

Re: Replacement for entertainment center
When my concertone failed a couple years ago, they shipped me a new one and I replaced it myself in about 20 minutes and sent the old one back.

Bert give Rad Batts a call and get him to replace the unit and just return the old one. Save those $$ you work hard for and use that warranty.

Re: Replacement for entertainment center
I don't see where anyone has mentioned cleaning the DVD player. I bought a nice DVD cleaner at WalMart for about $14 and use it frequently. This DVD cleaner has four brushes to clean the DVD head. Also , it's best to use the cleaner often as a preventative measure. This helps keep the heads clean before they get too much buildup. Don't forget to clean the DVD. They get dirty too. I use a good grade alcohol and lint free cloth. Good Luck!
