Low Clearances for GPS

Low Clearances for GPS
Has anyone purchased and downloaded this product on their GPS (specifically TomTom) which gives you approx. 3000 overpass/bridge clearances in the US.? Available from lowclearances.com for $20 for a 1 yr. subscription. Looks like it may be a handy tool, although I have never encountered any problems on any interstate, US, or state road. County roads, city streets, and other rural roads I am wary of.

I'd like to hear about this company as well as I travel with my GPS all the time and I use a Truckers Atlas to check for any low clearances on my route.

I am going to purchase/download this to my TomTom, and will be headed out to New Mexico in two weeks. Although I should not encounter any low overpasses (interstate/US Hwys. the entire route), I should be able to get a good feel of the operation/database. Will post an opinion when I return.

Re: Low Clearances for GPS
I fly by my Garmin Nuvi. The clearance download would of helped on our last trip. We ended up on a route with an 11'8" overpass. We're sitting at 12'6". So we followed the truck detour. The detour led us to the other side of the overpass but the problem was the GPS wanted me to turn prior to the low overpass. Long story short, it added 25 miles to our trip in some very hilly areas.

I added this POI to my GPS. It works well but the data base needs a few more years to grow. You can't depend on it yet. All the low clearances around me aren't on the data base.

Re: Low Clearances for GPS
Does it give low clearances out of parking lots? We pulled into a Walmart in Louisiana (emergency pit stop) no clearance bar where we went in. Couldn't go out the same way, so started in another direction. Got to the exit, and there was a clearance bar. We thought we could get under it, but DRAT! The bar scraped the roof - we cringed. Got through, and went across the road to another parking lot (no clearance bars here), and checked the damage. It put a dent in the cover over the bathroom vent - figured we'd have to replace it, but when we got back from vacation, the dent had popped back out. (I'm sure that parking lot clearance bars wouldn't be on that gps addition, but it would be nice)
