Anyone know of campgrounds near the California Redwood National Park?
Hi all,
I am taking a trip from Victoria, BC down the Oregon coast to the California Redwood National Park near the end of September. My 5th wheel length is 34' and the National Park campgrounds, unless I go alot more south, state max trailer length is 27-31'. Does anyone have any experience staying at any of these parks closer to Crescent City? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!! I'm also ok with private parks too but am guessing there are none in a National Park.
Thanks :)

Redwood trails rv park is about 8 miles south of Orick Ca. It has plenty of room for your rv. We stayed there a couple of weeks ago, and it is not as good as it once was, but is ok to stay a day or two. Brookings Oregon has some nice state parks, and also pull throughs at Beach front rv park. If you can, try staying at Oceanside rv park near Charleston Oregon,,, very nice. I do not know of a Calif. state park near Cresent City that has room for your rv. You could stay at Brookings and then go down to Redwood trails. JMHO...

If you want to stay in Crescent City the Village Camper Inn off of Parkway Dr. is the best in Crescent City. We are there now. The DW took a position at the hospital. So if you stop by come by Site 87 and say HI.

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the info. Will definitely be driving through that way, not sure if we are staying there yet or not but it is definitely a posibility. Will come by for sure and say hi if we are there.
Take care.

Try the emerald forest rv in Trinidad, ca.
http://www.rvintheredwoods.com/
we have stayed there several times.
Clean, reasonable rates, and surrounded by redwoods
even though it is in "town".
