Happy Anniversary and have a great trip. When I was 17 my Dad was no where as kind as you are. He only yelled once...then there was a glass of water.

Re: Our Family Excursion
We are now in Avon. We spent a couple nights running on the generator. The campground we stayed in outside of OBX was on a lake and pretty "buggy". The next night was spent at the National Park campground at Oregon Inlet in North Carolina. It's nice just bring power.
Now we're at "sands of time"
I'll try to post pics.

Re: Our Family Excursion
Couldn't figure out how to post pic's.
Anyway still here at "sands of time campground" We already paid for the week and no refunds. Guess you know whats coming next.
The campsites are small. They packed us in pretty tight. We try
to spend as much time away from the campsite as possible.
If we had it to do over we would have stayed at the National Park campground with no power.
Anyway, we are going fishing on a charter tomorrow, hope that goes well.

We made it home. It sure is HOT in North Carolina compared to here so we're glad to be home. Seems the journey is always better than the destination.

Re: Our Family Excursion
You was a couple weeks late on the weather. I was down at the Outerbanks on July 8-11 and it was cooler than the norm. 65 at night and 85 during the day with a breeze. I couldn't have ask for better temps. We stayed on the South end at the Travel L Resort on emerald Isle which has full hookups. I haven't tried the dry camping yet!!
Glad you made it home safely.

The high here today is supposed to be 67°/ low 44°. So much for Hot August Nights. It's normally 100 this time of year. Something is up with the weather this year. I'm predicting a wet winter and floods.

Ah yes...the high desert. If you don't like the weather in the morning, just wait til the afternoon. Actually, more like one hour to the next!!
I'll be staying just south of Bridgeport, CA the majority of next summer. And, I'll be bringing everything from winter garb to a pair of speedo's. Most likely will start out wearing the winter garb at breakfast, and end up in speedo's by tea time. SHEESH!!

Re: Our Family Excursion
Bridgeport, Mammoth Lakes, Bishop, Bodie,,, are all great places to spend some time. That is a very beautiful area, and it is one of our favorite places to stay. We have family in Bishop. If you like to fish, you will love it there. If you like old trains, you should visit Laws museum just outside Bishop off hwy 6.
Have a great time.

I am glad you had a safe trip. Traveling is always fun for us. Seeing new things, and meeting new people, and bonding with family is what it is all about.

My wife and I have a couple hundred acres of land just south of Bridgeport a few miles. My mining partner and I will be coming out for a good portion of the summer (probably July and August) to do some serious mineral sampling (mining). There's no camp ground where we'll stay. It's just a pull-off along one of Mono Co's electrical power line access roads; or I should say an open spot where there's no sage brush!! If I showed you, you'd never believe I could park two 30 fters, two trucks, two ATVs, and all kinds of equipment.
Maxtor, I love that whole area; been shopping in Mammoth, fished the Walker river (and tributaries), been drinking at Rhino's in Bridgeport. But... I've NEVER taken the time to see Yosemite!! And the kicker is, all I'd have to do is hike on over the mountain from our claims and I'd be right smack dab in the middle of it!!

Makes me sick thinking about that.
I'll be sure to stay away from Bridgeport if I see that in the local news.

No one's hijacking my thread. I enjoy all the stories.
BTW.. We took or motorcycles and rode a little bit too.
It was almost to hot to ride. I am probably just a wimp
when it comes to heat. We are originally from Seattle.

Re: Our Family Excursion
We like it. It only holds 2 motorcycles comfortably. Could squeeze in three if thier dirt bikes, or take the beds out, then maybe 3 small street bikes. One would have to go in backwards.
Lots of living space, which is what we wanted. The camper has held up well, so far, in maybe 3000 miles.

Re: Our Family Excursion
Since our last post we've put another 2k miles on our camper.
LOTS of West Virginia hills. We did upgrade to a diesel truck.
The toyhauler is doing well so far (so is the family)

You upgraded to a diesel during your trip? Now that's an experience! Time to upgrade your signature?

No, we changed trucks after the trip. It wasn't as much we wanted more power ( although the diesel does pull better ) but mama wanted a 4 door. And this one has more bells and whistles.

Re: Our Family Excursion
My son and I have been racing, most of this past summer, putting lots of miles on the camper.
Glad to report the only issue so far is the DVD skipped tracks. The dealer took care of it
almost before we called (smile)
THANKS to All Seasons for all their help.
These are the folks to buy from. IMO
