Winterizing 31QBH
This will be the third winter for my 2006 unit. For previous winters I have followed the instructions and poored antifreeze in the fresh water tank and pumped it though the system. It takes about 4 gallons to make this work. The system holds about a gallon, I normally waste about a gallon and it takes about a gallon extra in the tank to keep the pump primed. This has worked. However, it takes lots of antifreeze. This winter I plan to use the unit several times for hunting and will need to winterize and un-winderize several times. I am considering using the pick up hose on the inlet to the pump to pump the antifreeze through. However, the way this unit is designed with the water tank in the very back and the pump in the very front, how can I make sure the water line from the tank feeding the pump is protected? I am not sure it will drain back through the tank drain. If I do this it may only save a gallon each time.

You could blast air back through the line from the pump back to the tank to blow out any water left in it. Also, I installed a bypass around the water filter. It saves filling the filter canister with antifreeze everytime.

Is it winter already?
I open all the faucets, drain caps, drain valve on the water tank, remove the plug on the WH, disconnect the water filter, water strainer on the pump, and remove the hoses on the outside shower on the last trip of the year before heading home. A 30-40 mile drive will shake out most of the remaining water from all the lines and tanks. I then add antifreeze to all the drain traps when it's park for the winter. I've used air and had good luck, but it can't always get all the lines and the tank emptied.

Triggerman, I've used a winterizing kit on my last 2 5'vers and it makes the winterizing process a snap. Mine is quite similiar to this one at Camping World. It's about $15 and attaches to your water pump. All you need to do when winterizing is put the hose in your jug of antifreeze and turn the valve. The water pump now pumps directly from the antifreeze container.
