Nevada - Mount Charleston

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 7/8/2009, 3:16 pm

The photos just don't show how beautiful Mount Charleston is..... and feels. We drove up there on a hot day, and the higher we drove, the cooler it got. We went past a great place for a picnic. It was a huge grassy area, and people brought blankets and spread them on the ground. Some people brought lawn chairs and just enjoyed the peaceful setting.

Snow on the mountain!

Our truck. We drove past a few primative campgrounds.... notice the campground sign behind the truck. I don't know if we'd want to pull the 'Cat up here. We were very comfortable at Sam's Town Campground.

Almost hidden in the trees is a charming village. The photo was snapped at the Mount Charleston Lodge where we stopped for lunch.

We could see an angel or bat on the side of this cliff. Anybody else see it?

Ski lifts.

Ski slopes. This parking lot was as far up as we could drive. We stopped to look around and take a few pics, then we started the drive back down.

More slopes.
