A&E Electric Awning tilt adjustment
First topic message reminder :
A few weeks ago I had ordered the free arm for the A&E electric awning that allows you to tilt it to shed water. My son helped me install it last night. It was a pretty simple process. While we were doing this my son noticed that a star washer on one of the other pins was missing. This was an accident just waiting to happen. Due to the design, the front arm recesses into the back channel. Some of the pins are short so they can fit inside the back channel. The star washer cannot go onto the pin very far. It will be tight but I am thinking of drilling the end of the pins and installing a very thin washer and cotter pin or else go to a different pin design. If you have the electric awning please check your pins/washers!! If anyone already did a mod to this any info would be appreciated.

Received the part a long time ago. Just got around to installing it two weeks ago. It was very simple to put on. It seems to work very well too. I don't think we will have a problem with the awning becoming a lake again.

My dealer has them in stock, he wanted me to schedule an appointment so they could install it. After telling him he would have to move over 2 feet of snow, he gave me one.

Re: A&E Electric Awning tilt adjustment
Our Cat has an old manual awning. When we upgrade, I was looking forward to a new auto awning. Over all, are you all happy with these. Seems like an issue when it rains or gets windy.
I don't have an issue with our manual awning, but always like new and improved.

azandy,
The new electric is nice when putting it out, all it is is a button like putting your slide out. I think if I had the choice though, I would go back to my old manual one. I could strap it down and put the deflapper straps on and really not worry about it. With this new electric one, you can't do that. Changing the one arm so that I can lean the awning has made all the difference in the world when it rains though. We purchased our camper off the lot, so it came with the electric one.

Re: A&E Electric Awning tilt adjustment
Camping World in Winchester Virginia just ordered my adjustable arm for my Dometic Awning. The part is going to Camping World in Winchester Va. They wouldn't have it shipped directly to me. I am sure that will cost. So the shipping isn't really free unless you live close to a Camping world or have a good dealer. At least I'll get the part.

Re: A&E Electric Awning tilt adjustment
Just got my adjustable arm. It only cost $10.00 to have it shipped to me. That's not bad. I'll try and get it on someday soon. Looks like a good item to have.
