structural problems

Post by gsdmom3 on 6/27/2009, 2:28 pm

First topic message reminder :

I am wondering if anyone has ever heard of this happening??? Two weeks ago we were pulling our Wildcat and happenend to stop for gas and the trailer was sinking down on the hitch. We looked inside and the hitch was coming up through the main bedroom. We took the trailer off the truck and had it delivered to the dealer on a flatbed. The trailer was manufactured in 2006 and we bought it new. It is 29 feet long and has the "garage" on the back for an extra 2 feet. It has not been off road or really had much use. (4-5 times a year with trips averaging under 300 miles) The dealer has contacted Forest River and at this point they have offered $500.00 on an estimated $5,300.00 bill. We have a B and W hitch with a turn over ball with all equipment installed by the dealer. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has any thoughts on this.

Thanks!

I wondered too. Looked it up in google, and all I could find was a picture that had a big cabin tent and a big teepee..... and snow. I guess native camping is in tents without ANY conveniences. Not for me - been there (almost - there were privys within walking distance), don't want to go back.

Native camping probably also means hunting, fishing, and eating what you kill. We, at least, had civilized food.

I'm almost afraid to ask... but... what is "native" camping?

Jamesb, really glad to hear it's not as serious as it sounded.

No tent, no sleeping bag, no clothes. Shooters

Sorry I tried to use the quote function but the quote didn't follow. I had the ubolts strip out on me a couple times, also had the "tension" bolt strip, B&W sent me a new hardware package each time the ubolts stripped and they also sent me a new tension bolt and "pin" (the part that goes into the hitch") all under warranty! No cost to me at all!! That's awesome customer service if you ask me. I think the ubolts strip out because they are stainless. Coach
