Auxiliary Power
Well, I finally got my nerve up to cut the hole in the side of the CAT for the 20AMP inlet. Here are some pictures:
Inlet mounted above outside shower

Electric Panel and an outlet mounted in the the basement street side

Electric outlet mounted in the basement curb side

Put in a double box, outlet on left is original, outlet on right is fed from auxilary power

Ran a new wire over to kitchen, still have to install new GFI there

I was suprised how thin the fiberglass is, between 1/16 & 1/8 thick

Re: Auxiliary Power
Nice work Tom, what kind of electric panel and plug/cover (on outside) did you use?

Re: Auxiliary Power
I think he put in the Marinco from Burnstine's. What did you use to cut the hole inside of the cat. I got the 30amp from Burnstine's and want to install at a/c in the bedroom. I got the box from Home Depot and put in two 15 amp breakers. I want to install an outlet like you did Tom for the electric heater. Hope to get the wires run this weekend if everything goes to my plan and I just need to cut that hole in the side of the cat like Tom. Scared just a little about doing it.

Re: Auxiliary Power
Thanks everyone....
I put 4 layers of masking tape on the fiberglass and then used my hole saw. It cut really easy, which I guess it would after seeing how thin it is.
Yes, its the 20AMP Marinco from Burnstine's that I bought months ago. The breaker panel came from my local electric supply house, although I probably should have went to Home Depot and bought one from there. I only have 1 - 15 AMP breaker in it for now. I also made up some power cords 10 and 25 footers.
Mike(schrowang) I have a question for you. In your power posts, the 20 AMP outlet, are they the 15 AMP style(1 ground & 2 vertical connectors), or are they the real 20 AMP style(1 ground, 1 vertical & 1 horizontal connectors). Oh, and thank you for the original idea on doing this......
