Post by jacandjan on 6/18/2009, 2:47 pm

I did a search but found nothing so at the risk of starting a TP war I will just ask.

What kind of TP do you guys use ?

I've had it with the RV TP !!! To damn thin.

I use the Thetford Aqua-Soft 2-ply and never had any probs. I normlly buy it from camping world. Most RV dealers should have it as well.

Same thing we use at the house; stuff we get at Sam's. I've never been much of a believer in the need for special RV paper and I've never had any problems.

I'm with Scott. We use Members Marks....Sams Club brand. It passed the "toilet paper in a water glass test" with flying colors.

An FYI...put several sheets of your favorite brand in a glass full of water. Watch it to see if it starts to break up. I gave ours about 45 minutes and it broke down pretty well. Gave it a little stir and it turned into tiny bits.

We use Scott TP, but it too is pretty thin.

We tried Scott TP - it was way too flimsy. We can't buy RV TP nearby - and it's hard to know how much of a supply to get when we are at Camping World. And the price is usually inflated when we shop at the little campground stores.

So, we use Charmin Basic. It's one-ply, and hasn't caused any problems for us. Somebody once told me that Charmin is bad for holding tanks, but we figure a one-ply would be okay. We did the TP in a glass of water test. Charmin Basic was as good as the RV TP.

we use whatever is on the shelf. my question, when you install the roll, do you leave the end over the top, or under the bottom ?

and have you ever got a roll wrapped so tight, you can't get the end loose and by the time you get it loose, it looks like the cat got to it ??

We prefer over the top - it looks nicer that way - I can fold the end into a pretty point, and pretend that the maid did it. :)

Many people with pets (particularly cats) prefer under the bottom. If given the chance, our granddoggers will unroll an entire roll of t-paper in a matter of minutes if it is installed "over the top."

Thanks for the input, I will try the water test on a different brand and then give it a try. Anything has got to be better than that RV TP that we have been using !!!

I use RV toilet paper. If there is one thing I don't want to have a problem with, it's the black tank. My motto is always the same, better safe than sorry.
