Appetizers-Snacks - Easy Cheese Log
Easy Cheese Log
1 stick of margarine - softened
1 8-oz pkg of cream cheese - softened
1 envelope of Lipton's onion soup
Leftover slice of fried bacon, broken into pieces or 1 T. bacon bits or 1 T. chopped beef (optional)
1 small pkg of nut topping
Mix together all of the ingredients except nuts. Shape into a log and roll in the nut topping to coat it. Wrap in waxed paper or plastic bag. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Tastes great on Ritz crackers for a quick "rest area" lunch.

tempting
now that sounds pretty tempting tater,,, Talking about a log roll reminds me of being a kid and stopping at a Stuckeys, they had those candy/pecan log rolls, ..... were those just a east coast thing ? They were everywhere before interstates took over and Bypasses around all the little towns.

Ah..... Stuckey's. I always wanted one of those pecon rolls, they looked so good. But they were kind of dry and way too rich. :)
They still exist..... I just looked up their website.

I don't remember "The Thing" - must have been before my time. :)
