Cortez, CO
We've just started our "Odyssey 2009" and found our first campgrounds. After a brief stop at Quemado Lake, NM, which is quite remote, we're now in Cortez, CO. There are two main campgrounds at Quemado Lake. Juniper, has power and water but can be a bit crowded.
Pinon is dry camping but has the dump station.
The Sundance RV Park here in Cortez is an outstanding facility. Very clean and friendly. We'll be touring many nearby sites in the future.

Don't miss Mesa Verde NP. We found it to be an absolutely facinating place.

Welcome to the area. We are having a very nice, cool start to summer. Last weekend, the low at Silverton was 29.

Our excursion will probably end sometime in September. Left AZ to get out of the heat but darn near froze our toes off lately. We were trying to get out of the heat, but 29 degrees is not "cool" for us Zonies. Going to Mesa Verde today and Black Canyon of the Gunnison later this week then on towards Pikes Peak. Will post some pics when I figure out how to make them acceptable (1000x600) that is to say smaller. Can't figure it out ala camera, laptop or this site. Help
Probably neeed advice on how to post anyway as I seem to be a novice at most of this "modern" stuff. Hope to show & tell some more later and hope to see some of you on the road this summer.

Re: Cortez, CO
I have 3 photo editing softwares. My favorite for ease of use and quality of results is Olympus Master 2 - it's easy to resize (reduce to 1000 x 600 or anything else), correct color problems or just enhance the color, crop, -http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/oima_softwaremaster.asp
If you can load your photos from the camera to your computer, you can set up Olympus Master 2 to be your default editor, and the photos should go there directly. If you have photos in your computer that you would like to transfer to Olympus Master 2, that's easy to do. I load all of my photos into a file called "New Photos" then I transfer them to files that are more specific - "Grand Canyon" "Around the House" "Family" etc.
Olympus Master 2 is free to download. I had Camedia Master that is also from Olympus, and loved it, but when I got a new computer, the installation disk wouldn't work, so I downloaded Olympus Master 2 to the new computer and I like the new software much better.
