Second trip this year. It rained a lot but we still enjoyed it. Got down to 29 Sat night.

It looks like you did some off-roading to get there. Are those twin Hondas I see in the first photo? Did you fish that beautiful steam? That third photo is a beautiful shot. Thanks for sharing and making me very jealous.

There's a couple places in the Sierras that you can drycamp with no one around. good times without the crowds.

Yes, twin Hondas. I just pulled them out to see if they would work; they did. Nope, no fishing; don't know if there is fish there or not. Probably but the water is very high at this time of year.

Along a creek is the best way to "dry camp". We can get along without power better than without adequate water.

No, this road runs from Hwy 550, over Ophir Pass to Teluride. I'm not sure where the old RR roadbeds are; might be interesting to find out. Of course the narrow gauge is still in service between Silverton & Durango.
