It looks like you did some off-roading to get there. Are those twin Hondas I see in the first photo? Did you fish that beautiful steam? That third photo is a beautiful shot. Thanks for sharing and making me very jealous.

Beautiful scenery! It's been years since we've dry camped, but it sure does look tempting.

Your photos are great!

There's a couple places in the Sierras that you can drycamp with no one around. good times without the crowds.

Yes, twin Hondas. I just pulled them out to see if they would work; they did. Nope, no fishing; don't know if there is fish there or not. Probably but the water is very high at this time of year.

37' 51.5"N
107' 43.3"W

There are many spots like that around here; usually something open unless it is a major holiday.

It's not really dry; all the water you need. Just have to carry it!

Along a creek is the best way to "dry camp". We can get along without power better than without adequate water.

A solar panel takes care of that.

No, this road runs from Hwy 550, over Ophir Pass to Teluride. I'm not sure where the old RR roadbeds are; might be interesting to find out. Of course the narrow gauge is still in service between Silverton & Durango.
