Replaced Lazy Susan today

Post by oldelmer1 on 5/24/2009, 10:58 am

Hi all,

We replaced the Lazy Susan today, here are a few pictures.

Picture from above the sink, blocked off the opening between the 2 cabinets, and added a shelf:

Picture from right inside the doorway, also added a 1/2 shelf in this one too:

And put a 3rd shelf in the medicine cabinet.

Thanks for the pics. I also want to remove the Lazy Susan. Can't keep anything on it when traveling and stuff always ends up wedged behind it. I think I'm going for the shelf idea too.

We removed ours too. Everything in that cabinet bounced everywhere but onto the lazy susan. Haven't added a shelf, although we have added shelves in some of the other cabinets.

Thanks for the great pics. I made the final vote to get rid of our "Worthless Susan" this past weekend. All the cans fell out and some wedged behind the thing. Now, with Tom's pictures, I can get the DW approval. LOL...

Notice that in the first picture, the shelf does not have a leg on the front left. Its hard to see, but in the back right corner, I put some supports going horizontal at the top of the shelf, kind of sandwiching the shelf in the corner.

Hopefully, this will hold it without the leg.

Tom,
Great job!. Thanks for the photos. We removed our lazy susan, and put in a holder for wraps and baggies, but haven't put in a shelf. Yours looks very nice. We also keep talking about putting another shelf in the medicine cabinet.

Question were can I find the holder for wraps and baggies?

Your medicine cab is totally different than mine. Way different.

Dan,
Our medicine cabinet is like oldelmer1's, only we didn't add the shelf. We've been meaning to, but just haven't had the time. I think if we did this mod, we might split the bottom section into two equal shelf heights. What is different between your medicine cabinet and oldelmer1's? Yours might be a better design.

The holder for the wraps and baggies came from an online store. I wish I could say who, but I deleted the link from my favorites list. I can tell you this much, we turned the rack on it's side instead of mounting it upright as it's supposed to be. It works okay, but sometimes the boxes slide out. I think it needs some improvement.

TY. Yeppers. Hit the search mode. Need to take a closer look at yours and the ones I found to see what to order. Anyway here is our Medicine Cabinet. You have a newer trailer than ours and they should have used the same one. It appears you have enough room. We keep it stocked for an emergency get away.
