South Sandusky at Rend Lake, IL
The South Sandusky campground at Rend Lake, IL consists of 129 campsites spread out over five camping loops. 8 sites are non-electric for walk-in tent camping only, 18 of the sites have full hookups, and all the others are electric only sites. Almost all of the sites have either a front to back slope or require side to side leveling. The sites are nicely spaced and each had a picnic table and firering.
The site we had was a drive through that was narrow and I had to level side to side with 4 inches of lift on the slide out side of the trailer. The sewer and electrical connection were on the wrong side by the door of the trailer. I had to run our sewer hose under the trailer.

SOUTH SANDUSKY CAMPGROUND WAS A NICE AREA OF THE LAKE, BUT THE SITES DIDN'T IMPRESS ME.
All of the loops had bathrooms with flush toilets but only two of the loops had a shower house. We were in the Dogwood loop and the bathroom was clean but the fixtures were rusting and the walls needed painting.
If we were to return to the Rend Lake area we would probably stay at the nearby Wayne Fitzgerald State Park. I thought the sites at the state park were much nicer and easier to get in to.

Re: South Sandusky at Rend Lake, IL
Thanks for the review.
We've never stayed at Sandusky - or we don't think so. We stayed at a Corp of Engineers campground and at Wayne Fitzgerald State Park - mostly at Wayne Fitzgerald. That was in the late 70's and early 80's. After that we started staying farther south at Ferne Cliff - it was closer to Grandma's house.
