Met Retired2

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 5/13/2009, 9:25 am

Yesterday afternoon we had the great pleasure of meeting fellow members Gary and Glenda of Las Cruces, NM. They came to the kampground, and we visited for awhile in our 'Cat. We had a nice visit, then we went to Old Mesilla to the La Posta restaurant. Old Mesilla is an authentic old village with original Adobe constructed buildings. We would have liked to walk around a bit, but it was hot. Gary did drive us up and down some of the streets. Our dinner was excellent. After dinner, Gary drove us through some huge pecan orchards, and we saw the measures the growers have to take to make the pecan trees thrive in south NM. After that, we came back to the campground, visited for a little longer, and then we had to say goodbye. It was wonderful getting to meet Gary and Glenda, and we hope to see them when we pass through Las Cruces again.

That's great! One of the times we are in El Paso visiting my son, I want to drive up to Las Cruces and meet Retired2 and while in the area visit White Sands. Y'all just beat me to it!

This forum is great yourock It allows camping friendships to be developed via internet, and a lot of good camping experiences and fun are enjoyed by all. It is also really great to be able to have an opportunity to put the face(s) with the name, and to really recognize great people on the internet are also great people in person.

I'd prefer to keep my identity a mystery. :) :) Part of the Witness Protection Program, ya know.
