Installed a Maxxair Fan/Mate

Post by Mopar_Earl on Tue May 12, 2009 5:06 pm

Hello all,
I installed a Maxxair Fan/Mate on my bathroom power roof vent. Wasn't too bad of a job, but did take more time than installing the Maxxair II that I installed on the bedroom roof vent.

I have an older model similar to that over my bathroom and the plain model over the other 2 vents. I do like the flip up feature, makes cleaning a lot easier.

Looks good!! I have the normal Max air cover over my bathroom, should I be using one of these?

I think it depends what kind of fan you have, if you have the Fantastic 12" 3-speed fan you could change to the Maxxair Fan/Mate to increase the air flow, quote from Maxxair: "Can be safely installed over high powered RV ventilator fans, however our Fan/Mate specifically designed for this application allows higher air flow from your existing ventilator fan."

Earl,
Will that increase your overall height by much?

The vent covers over the bedroom and bathroom significantly increased the height of ours. Don't ask how we know, we don't want to talk about it. Wink

Jim,

I haven't measured, but eyeballing things, nothing is higher than my A/C, which is the highest point on my trailer. The Front vent cover is about the same height as the A/C and the middle vent cover is lower than the front vent cover. Please check out the pic of the roof line showing both vent covers and the A/C. The Maxxair II is 9 3/8" tall and the Fan/Mate is 9.5" tall according to Maxxair specs. Other trailers maybe different depending on roof vent and A/C location as to what is the tallest or if either vent cover makes your unit taller.

Earl

I can't imagine it being higher than the AC, but only a tape measure knows for sure. Beware of low bridges! Reminds me of the day I was pulling a Snocat in a small town.............

I agree with Earl's statement, I don't believe the covers are higher than the A/C, but I could be wrong. I'll have to look at it better tonight when I get home.
