LED tail light upgrades
First topic message reminder :
Thought I'd share my upgraded tail lights. The pics are before, after, and the LED assy. Was easy and only took a few mins. Remove two screws, old lens, and bulb. Install LED assy and reinstall the same screws. I bought these LEDS from a local dealer for about 35 bucks each and the trailer takes 4. Not a cheap upgrade, but well worth it I think. New LED lights are very bright day and night. Also what is nice about the upgrades is you dont have to disturb the sealer around the tail light housing. If you trade up and the new trailer has the same tail light, you can keep your LEDs and put the lens and bulbs back on (if you saved them).
The LED assy are from Bargman the maker of the tail lights. Model 84/85.

Those prices sound high.

Pulled the old one off today, I need the surface mount units. I sent them an e-mail to see if they have the 613 & 610 and the price. I'll let you know what I find out.

Re: LED tail light upgrades
Maybe we should consider a group buy. I'll ask them and see if they will give us a break. It will be about $250 for mine (tail & clearance).

Keith,
Why do you like the replacement fixture as opposed to just replacing the bulbs?
Thanks

The bulbs are good replacement but when I saw how bright the sealed units were and the post here on the replacement tailights, the decision for me was simple. I am not unhappy with the bulbs and they are easy I just will be happier with the brighter replacement. Hope that makes sense.

Hey Bob:
When you installed your taillights, did you use the three screws or just caulk/silicone them on?? How did you put the lic plate on your cat with the new fixtures?
Thanks,
Keith

Re: LED tail light upgrades
Keith:
I drilled 4 holes through the back of the housing to attach it. I used rope caulking on the back of the fixture to seal it in place and then put some white silicone around the edges to dress it up. I had replace my license bracket with a metal one quite some time ago so I just put the one with the light in it above it.
