I just picked up a Sport by Simplicity ; it is carried on the shoulder with a strap and has a hose, two section wand, floor tool (not a brush), accessories and a LOT of power for the size. It fits nicely in the overhead cabinets on our rear wall. It cost ~$130. It does excellent on the hard floors and pretty well on the carpet but you may have to pick up a few missed pieces which cling to the carpet. The cord is long enough to reach the entire interior from the outlet in the upper kitchen cabinets.

Ours was something that was on sale at Kohl's a couple years ago. I think it's a Bissel. It's small, and lightweight. We just lay it down on the closet floor. It does a pretty good job.

I purchased a Craftsman 5-gal wall-mounted wet/dry vac for $90.00 at Sears. I installed it against the rear basement wall of my Cat on the curb side of the unit. I piped the vacuum hose through the water heater compartment and plumbed it to a connection just above the 1st step up to the bedroom. I pulled a switched, 120V outlet from the hot water heater electrical circuit and installed the switch just above the hose inlet. The vac came with a 14' hose, two wands and some nifty implements. They're stored in the compartment under the 1st step. The 14' hose will reach anywhere in the Cat. The whole system works like a charm. Compared to spending over $200.00 for a system at CampingWorld, I think this works just as well.

I posted pix on the old site, but I'll take some more tomorrow morning and post them here.

Mike,

I would like to see pics of your setup. I believe I saw your pics on the old site, but that site was very cumbersome when viewing pics.

Thanks...

Mike,
How do you like the Shark, we looked at them at Costco, but the reviews say the handle is really flimsy and can break easily.

Any comments???? THANKS....

A very small Oreck. Got it with the upright. It's about 2'
long and stores well under the settee. Light enough to carry in
one hand while using.

We like it, it has good suction and the motorized brush picks up the dog hair. We have one for the house as well, but that one doesn't have the brush.

I have a full sized upright Bissell vac bought just for the trailer. I bought it for my old Keystone Sprinter 5ther. Only prob, I really dont have a good place to store it in the WC. I leave it behind at home when I go camping. My old 5ther I would just sit it in the closet. WC has no closet.

We have a Red Devil built in. We had a rechargeable. The builtin beats it hands down and it is very small, so it takes up little room.

Re: Vacuum cleaner

We had one of those little Sharks for the house for quick sweeps.

My little girl was about 4yrs old then, she was helping mom with it and decided she wanted to see what was going on down there.
She stuck her head down and it grabbed her hair , Yanked her to the floor and the sharp little corner made a nice gash. About 3 stitches worth. So watch out,,, The shark Bites. char124

They're small but plenty strong....

This is the interior of the HWH compartment. I replaced the cheesy 120V receptical with a standard metal J-box, cover and 20A duplex.
The wiring runs to the switch and the hose connects the vac to the outlet in the coach.

This is the $99.00 Crafsman wet/dry vac installed in the basement. Note the new 120V switched duplex below the 12V light connected to the HWH J-box on the other side of the wall. I installed it here because the space on the curb side of the bedroom heating duct is kinda wasted.

The switch turns the vac on and off and directly below is the inlet for the hose.

Schrowang,

I know I'm way after the date of this post but love your idea and see that Sears still sells these in the USA, can't find it at Sears here in Canada. As I'm taking the kids to Disneyland next week, 5th wheel in tow, I'm thinking of copying your idea and picking one of these up while down there. I'm curious, where did you get the hose wall plug for the inside of your trailer? Also, approx how tall is the vacuum in the mount? I found the dimensions of the vacuum itself but not when its sitting in the mount.

Thanks alot.

The coupler in the trailer is also from Sears. I found it in their implements bin when I bought the Vacuum.

Add about 4" to the height of the vac.

Best of luck.
