Thank you
I installed the Hunter in my 29RLBS which has a Dometic A/C unit. No problem and same wiring as shown in the pix.
With the original thermostat you never can be sure exactly what temperature your set on. With the digital, you know exactly and that it will control to +- 1 or 2 degrees, whichever you set it for.
How do you change it from 2 to 1 degrees? I'm sure mines set at 2 but I want it tighter than that.
ScottAndGrace,
According to the instruction sheet, the TStat is set for a one degree differential, or as they say "SPAN" above and below the set temperature. If you want more or less span, you hold both up and down keys for three seconds and the word SPAN will appear in the window. Then use the up or down key to go to either Span 3 or Span 1. Span 3 is a 2 degree span which is where I have mine set. I have no idea what the span is for Span 1; maybe 1/2 degree?
The instructions also say that if the batteries are changed/die or the reset button is used the TStat will revert to Span 2.
Drive on .....

Re: Hunter Digital Thermostat
I checked my setting and it was on 2, so I set it to 1 and turned on the heat just to see what happens. I could hear the stat click off at the set temp but because the furnace has to run for another minute after its told to turn off and because it so oversized for the TT, (35K BTU) the temp over shoots by 2 degrees. Oh well, it still works far better than the junky OEM!

Honeywell Thermostat
I just installed a Honeywell Thermostat to replace the Duotherm that was there. I cant remember if, on the old one, the fan came on first or the propane. Can anyone tell me. Also the FAN switch only worked on the auto setting on the old thermo and still does not work on the FAN only setting. Any ideas. Thanks

Re: Hunter Digital Thermostat
My fan comes on right away, then the propane.
Cant remember about the fan, but I think mine is only on auto also.

I've been popping my batteries out whenever we pack up to head back home. toss them in the kitchen drawer and pop them back in when we get were we're going.

Re: Hunter Digital Thermostat
I'm totally loving mine. I still haven't installed the high speed switch yet and haven't really needed it in super hot weather with no shade. The low speed still cools it off. So I may not even wire it back in.

Re: Hunter Digital Thermostat
Getting ready to do the digital thermostat mod!! Is there a way to wire the A/C fan motor to run on high at all times when a/c is on without having to put on a switch on the new stat? We always run on high, we have never used the low setting and probably never will here in the south. Any suggestion or help would be great.

Re: Hunter Digital Thermostat
I would think that if you hook up the blue wire (high speed fan) together with the orange wire (fan), you should run the fan in high only.

Yes, it can be done, I just did this a couple of weeks ago. Went to Walmart, bought the Hunter 42999B thermostat for $19.95+tax. Installed in less than 30 minutes with wiring as follows:
WIRE_________DUO-THERM______HUNTER
Ground_______Green___________"RC" and "RH" - already jumpered on the Hunter
Fan__________Tan(or Brown)____"G", see below(High Fan)
High Fan______Blue____________"G", see above(Fan)
Cool__________Yellow__________"Y"
Furnace_______White__________"W"
Red 7.5vdc_____Not used, capped, taped, return to wall for future use.
Note that I tied the High fan and fan together. I wanted high fan whenever air-conditioner was on. If you wanted, you could add an external switch to do this by wiring the High fan through the external switch to "G". This would then give you both speeds, I didn't need or want this.

Convince me to put in a programmable thero 44110 versus a non programmable 42999B.

Re: Hunter Digital Thermostat
I'm pretty satisfied with ours just on the low fan switch setting.
We've been to the beach twice and WDW in the summer and the a/c worked well on low. even kicked on and off a few times during the day.
