BW Valve Handle - Revisited

Post by schrowang on 3/29/2009, 6:47 am

Here are three shots of the install. Many thanks to "jamesc47 for the original idea.

I've added two 3/4x1/2 nipples & two 1/2 end caps for a better grip.

Also added a 3/4" bushing to reduce wear on the 1/2" shaft.

Secured with two plastic wire ties for corrosion protection.

The last thing I have to do is paint the handle black. Gonna do that tomorrow.

Just an idea but you could drill a hole through the pipe behind the 3/4 bushing and get a long shafted lock to put through it. That would keep unauthorized people from pulling it.

I finished my version of this project today following my black valve having been pulled by some "kind" soul on our trip last weekend. I added the long shackle padlock Big Dave suggested as well.

Pictures to follow when I get the time.

Thanks to those who have posted this project in the past. They were jamesc47 and schrowang. thanks

I just completed the install of the extention to the BW Valve yesterday. I wish I had done that long time ago. Thanks jamesc47 for the idea. Now I got to do Big Dave's idea for the Lock.
