I have not camped at Redwoods, but it's a nice place. You might want to check the weather stats; we usually go in summer, don't know what it is like in March.

Maxtor can probably provide more info; that's his area.

Our favorite (personal preference of course) is Patrick's Point State Park. When we lived in the area this was the favorite day use area. Any return trip to the area finds us camped there. Nice sites, no hook ups. Great views and Agate Beach is really nice. This is on the south end of the Redwood National Park. We haven't stayed in any commercial grounds in the Trinidad area, so can't be any help there. It is hard to predict the weather there (will be a little like Oregon coast in that respect). Expect it to be cool, and probably damp or drizzle, but very enjoyable scenery, etc.

EMERALD FOREST RV - TRINIDAD CA

Post by dodgetrbo on 6/21/2009, 5:36 pm

Hello,
we have stayed several times at the Emerald Forest RV/cabin park.
Bathrooms very clean & hot water all the time.
Tall redwoods between sites, and very helpful & nice people run the park.
They even had an easter egg hunt for the kids staying at the park and for those in the town.
Very nice.

We stay at the Redwood Trails RV Park just south of Orick. The last time we went to Patricks Point State Park, they had telephone lines to low for our 5th wheel to go under, and most of the sites were for tents and small trailers. This was two years ago, so I don't know what it is like now. We will be going over to Redwood Trails or Oceanside RV Park in Oregon around July 14th. Both are very nice. Oceanside is quiet and restful and next to the beach, while Redwood Trails has many things to do and see around it, along with the herds of Elk.
