Truck bed height

Post by Big A on Sun Mar 01, 2009 2:32 am

Hello,
I'm new to the forum, as I just purchased a 25rl from RV Wholesalers, i'm scheduled to pick up in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping someone can tell me if i'm going to have clearance issues with the 5er overhang and truck bed.
I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 with the camper prep package, that sits at 57" bed height. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Big A

welcome You should have no problem I pull with a 2005 Dodge Quad with the same options and I just went out and measured the bed height at 57". We pull a 2006 29RLBS. If you have a Quad Cab you will need a slider hitch of some type. Happy Camping. Jim

welcome When I went to RVW to pickup my 29RLBS last year they readjusted the hitch. They raised it one bolt hole higher, actually to the highest notch. It had never be hitched up since the hitch was installed. Although I did ask to them to check it out and adjust it if necessary.

Big A,

Ditto what Stanford said. We have a 2004 2500 CTD QC 4WD and the hitch sits just right for the 29RLBS. peelout

Thank You all for the info. Now I can have a little peace of mind in my out of state purchase. At least as far as the bed clearance anyway.

You should be fine. Here is mine with just the springs in the lowest hole & 235/85 16 tires. I still need to put the 1.25 block Ive got sitting on the workbench to get it just right. The truck is lifted 5.5" with 35s. Also it looks more of an angle in the pic than it sits.

Big A, Let RVW know your from this forum.

Smorgan, are you gonna lift the trailer with the blocks ?

Seems like you'd have a mighty top heavy trailer with it that high scratch

Yes I will be putting in a 11/4 block. Its very safe, top heavy is the fleet of tankers I manage that haul hazmat.. Here is a link of towing when the truck was "big" & b4 it was a dually.. It had 8" & sat on 38's.
