Pet thread...show em if you got em!!
We need a pet thread in here, so I'll start.
Meet Molly; our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and the love of my life...next to the DW of course.
I call her my little cockroach, because of all the prominent feeler wiskers she has.
As a pup 2007

Re: Pet thread...show em if you got em!!
We don't have any pets, but we have some Granddoggers.

These are Shirley and Laverne. They belong to our daughter and her husband, and live about 20 miles from us. We keep them when their mom and dad go on vacation or have a lot of Rangers home games. They feel they aren't giving the pups enough attention on those long home stands, so the pups come to our house and get spoiled and get lots of attention. They are sisters (same litter) and were adopted together.

This is Sparky. He lives in San Diego, CA, with our son and his wife. He was adopted through a rescue organization. We don't get to see him as much as we'd like, but when we get out there, he's always happy to see us.

Sparky is very patient and understanding of his mommy who is a huge Mickey Mouse fan. :)

This is Callie, the DW's lap dog, a few years ago....

Its possible loving Dad might have slipped DW's puppy a few snacks too many, and this is what happened....

No doubt Callie loves the water ...

Smile...

Here are our dogs.... Dixie and Jazz.
Dixie is the black dog. We rescued her as a pup and think she is shepard/rottweiler mix.
Jazz is the brown dog. We rescued him at age 2 and he is chow chow/shar-pei mix.

The Sofa Queen, Bailey the Boxer,
This will be a challenge to train her with 3 Cats to confuse her.
It will also be interesting to see how she does camping.

Re: Pet thread...show em if you got em!!
They both love to camp and explore the campgrounds!!! As you can see, when Razzle is out doors, he has to wear a pink harness with bells on it or we can't find him due to his camouflage. He also has a leash that I walk him on when we are at a campground.
We have a friend who has 2 of those 5 toe cats and yes, them seem to never sit still.

Re: Pet thread...show em if you got em!!

this is my million dollar dog missy. she's a handicapped german sheperd who has had spinal surgery. as you can see, she likes to get comfy. don't let the handicap fool you, you can't outrun her ! lol she's an extreme amount of upkeep but we feel she's worth it. she loves to go for rides and will play with kids all day long. she's starting to move her legs after a year and a half, but we still hold hope she'll walk again. she does have feeling, it's just things didn't come together as planned. we went four times a week for hydrotherepy at MSU but the therepist broke her knee, so we have to do it at home ourselves. we'll be getting her another "wheelchair" soon, because the therepist took hers away, not wanting her to become lazy and dependant. make no mistake, she's one happy girl. a better pic of her is my avatar.

Rick and Sandy,
Missy is so lucky to have devoted parents such as yourselves!
Our Mini Schnauzer, Winston, was hit by a car over 7 yrs ago after escaping our fenced back yard. The vet kept trying to encourage us to put him down because of his massive injuries. Instead, we spent over $3500.00 for back and hip surgery, plus months of rehab lead by my devoted DW. He turned 14 last August, and is still going strong!

You have my utmost respect for caring so deeply for your four legged child.

Re: Pet thread...show em if you got em!!
your post brung tears to my eyes. you've been down the same path. i've taken off work to help missy try to recover, it's been a year since i sat at my desk. but they know my bond with missy outweights my job. people think i'm crazy because of what i do for this pet, but i tell them, i'm 54 yrs old and i have every toy a man could ever want.....but the toy i want to play with the most.....can't get up and play. so we come up with new things. lol another 4 grand and i'll have as much into missy as i did the fiver when i bought it new. and i'll spend that much again to help her keep happy. this is my second "special needs" dog. i had spike. one eye taken out due to cancer....artificial front elbow and rear hip surgery. cancer finally took him..the vet never told me they can treat cancer in pets. i no longer use him. you give winston a big hug from rick and sandy and tell him he too, is loved. not that he doesn't already know. thank you for the kind words.

Re: Pet thread...show em if you got em!!
TC,
Yes the girls are out of the same litter. I actually picked Babe up first and Sugar was the last one. I felt bad because Sugar was so sad when I left with Babe.I went back and bought her too. If you notice Babes face is grey as a pup. As she got older the grey stayed and she looks like an older dog. People think they are mother and daughter.
P.S.
They just turned four this past March.

Re: Pet thread...show em if you got em!!
Here is our new addition, her name is Bonnie. Dad was an Austraian Sheperd, mom was a tan German Shepard with an 1/8th St. Bernard. All I see is St. Bernard. She had her first camping trip this past weekend and she has decided that we should live on a lake, she's addicted to water. Between her and the 2 cats, we need a bigger camper, "Now Accepting Donations for a 31TS"

Both ears are standing up most of the time now, so she looks more normal!!
