Rally

Post by Frank L on 2/22/2009, 12:20 pm

Having just joined the forum in November, I don't know wether you have had any rallies or not. I am finishing up a rally with my former forum (r-vision camping club) in Apopka, Florida. We had a total of twelve trailers and a great time was had by all. We were, obviously, the only Wildcat, but they "tolerated us." I think it would be great to get a rally together of this group so that we can put "personalities" with names and posts. There are quite a few owners on the eastern seaboard so maybe a mini rally would be a good place to start. Anyhow, let me know how you feel about the prospects. I would be happy to do some of the "footwork."

Sounds good to us. Someone would have to pick a date and location.

We routinely attend Rallys from our former forum also...Outbackers.com.

Last Fall we hosted a Pig Roast Rally at Spring Gulch in PA with 52 units attending from all over the East Coast. That is with over 3000 active members.....

The biggest obstacle is finding a central enough location for people to drive to. They (Outbackers) generally do regional rallys since the website has so many members.

I moved this to "Events and Special Camping Trips." Let's see what kind of get-together we can come up with.

We'd be interested, too, but we don't have any idea when. Our year is pretty much mapped out with visits to family, the annual trip to Las Vegas, another trip to WDW, and a trip to the New England states to see some fall colors. AND we're doing home renovations in between trips. Sometime in the fall might work, maybe combined with our fall trip.

Tom and Sharon,
It would probably begin in early September. It depends on when the leaves start turning colors, and approximately how soon they get their first snowfalls. We really don't want to see snow.
We've been using our Trailer Life Directory/Campground Navigator (love it!) to plan our route and select campgrounds. So far, it will take us 13-14 days to get to New Brunswick, CA. We still have to plan our trip back home.

Hi Tater,

I agree, no snow!!! Laughing Although, it would be neat to wake up one morning and see some on the ground, as long as it melts way by noon and doesnt come back.

Well, keep us informed as to when you think you will be going to New England states. That is, if you want some company.

Sounds good to us also! We might be tied up in the spring but later might work. I know one thing, you will never be able to work it out for everyone interested. I guess the best way is to get a feel for when it works best for most of the Wildcat owners and go with it. We are interested. Duke & Peggy Laughing

We just got back from our trip Northwest, Washington,Oregon ,Northern California, Montana, Glacier Waterton, Canada and of course Rapid City SD. Great trip. Thought I would see if anything has developed here about a rally! Looks like everyone has been busy camping this summer. Not much activety here. Laughing

Re: Rally

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 8/30/2009, 3:49 am

We're planning a mini-meet for the TX, OK, LA, MO, AR members and anyone else who wants to attend. We were hoping for late summer (too late now) or sometime this fall. We were going to do some researching of campgrounds this summer, but because of a serious health problem with a very close family member, we weren't able to get away. So, we've postponed the meet to spring or early summer, 2010. We hope to have it in the Eureka Springs, AR area or Grove, OK area.

We are headed your direction the middle of this month. My wife is having a class reunion in Las Vegas. We are pulling the Wildcat out I-40 and will return by way of route I-10 as far as Houston. After that our itinerary is sketchy. Maybe we'll see some of you along the way.

Lets keep the idea of a rally in 2010 going and try to get something set up. The ones that can make it great but the one that can't maybe can make the next one or maybe have a spring and fall rally

We attended a rally in Branson, Mo several years ago. It was at a KOA near the dam, not sure if that campground is still there, and there is a lot to do in the area.

We should be available for a Branson rally. Someone needs to pick a date so that everyone can keep the date available.
The only thing DW and I have planned for this year is spending March in Gulf Shores, AL.

I think small get togethers by area would be nice..... Midwest, Southwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, etc. Of course, anyone who lives outside an area could also attend.

I've been trying to find a time to have a get-together, but the health problem of a close family member takes precedence right now. We'll know more in the coming weeks how things go. In the meantime, if someone else plans something within a day's drive (6 hours), we'd probably be able to attend.
