Winter photos

Post by scottz on 2/13/2009, 6:49 am

I added a couple of winter photos (not cat related) to my gallery. Higher resolution on Picasa (link in signature).

PS: Kieth, I got a new camera.

Hey Scott,,, let me know how that pentax works out,,,,

All I've ever owned was pentax 35mm camera's,,, So I've got plenty of lens , I just need a digital camera to clip them onto now.

Scott:

Nice camera.
Lens make the photographer - IMHO

Attended a seminar by National Geo photographer and when asked how he took such amazing pictures his answer floored me and has stuck with me for many years.

He said: "Show the viewer how you felt, not what you saw."

That is a pic of me on my snowmobile that my son shot.

Nice photos. Snow is okay to look at, but I wouldn't want to have to drive in it. Been there, done that in Chicago for more years than I'd care to mention. Yuck. Photos are pretty, though.

That is one of the nice features of the Pentax DSLR; it is supposed to be able to use just about any Pentax lens ever made. So far, I really like the camera. Keep in mind I am not an expert and don't have any other DSLR's to compare it to, but I think it is great.

I still have (but have not used in years) a Pentax K1000 I picked up used in about 1977 or 78. I took a lot of photos over the years and have three lenses for it. I would love to get a K2000, but have other piorities right now (new wheels and ties for the WC being among them).

Great action shot of the flying snowmobile.

Thats the pentax Work Horse,,,, I've toted mine all through Costa Rica, all the way to Maine, It'll take some great pic's, just have to have patience to use one and manipulate all it will do.
I traveled with a tripod, len's, Remote Cable. I just about always used the remote cable instead of holding it if it was a scenic shot.
Had a lot of fun with it. Mines still sitting in the closet to,,, I need to get it out and see if she still shoots....
