Installing Vent Covers :
I'll try and do a Clear vent replacement " How To".
This is for a "Ventline" brand cover. Elixir now has a universal type cover that looks just like the Ventline. I don't think the original ventlines are available anymore.
Has the "C" shaped hinge with metal tabs at each end that you bend back into shape of the original "C" shape to remove.
Bend the Tabs on each end to get ready to slide the cover off the Mount.
Go inside and remove the 4 screws holding the plastic trim up and the screen. You'll need to remove the screw from the Knob first and pull the Knob straight down. Then remove the screen and plastic trim.
You'll see 2 screws holding the mechanical arm to the frame.
Take those out. Then as the arm is hanging , Slide the arm down (" WD 40 shot" if its hard to slide by hand" )until the round part thats connected to the cover comes all the way down to the large hole that will let it pull out. Reach up through the hole and you can slide the cover off of the hinge if you want. Or go back on top and do it from there.
Install the new vent cover , Then bend the tabs so the cover will not come off the hinge.
Go back inside and reinstall the lift arm into the cover. Make sure the little metal tab stays on the end of the arm, it holds tension on the round piece as it slides up and down the metal frame piece on the cover.
Replace the screws in the crank , Replace the screen and plastic trim, with the 4 screws, Take some caulk and put a bead back around the plastic trim to make it look flush with the ceiling, just smooth it out with your finger.
Remount the Knob with screw and your done.
If your doing it by yourself it should take less than an hour. If you have help you could probably do it in less than 30min.
It looks like it should come apart all from up top, But to do it right and not bend anything out of place you need to drop the screen and plastic trim and slide the arm out of the metal frame. Its really easy to do.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I installed the Covers that go over the vent tops also.
You have to have the vent up to mark all your holes to drill , then have it down to install the covers and adjust them. Have someone inside to open the vents to be sure their not hitting the cover when you open the vent. Just have the nuts loose and shift the cover so it won't hit. Mine went on without having to adjust. their pretty easy to install also.
Hope that helps.

Re: Installing Vent Covers :
They might be universal. Ask at a trailer parts store - then buy from them or order on-line.
