Two More 'Cats on our Way Back Home

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 2/5/2009, 2:50 pm

We saw a Wildcat eastbound on I-20 in Ruston, LA at about 1:10pm today. Also one eastbound (again on I-20) near Tyler. Can't remember the time. I was on the phone and couldn't write it down in my little book.

We aren't home yet. We decided to stay in a campground just one more night so we could avoid the Dallas rush hour traffic.

Admit it, you wanted to stop in Shreveport so you could hear the slots one more time before going back to Texas!!

Nope. Didn't stop in Shreveport. Waved to all 5 casinos as we drove through. We DID begin the day yesterday in Vicksburg's Ameristar. We stayed the night near Terrell, TX, and have about an hour or hour and a half to get home this morning.

Our house is going to seem so BIG when we get home. :)

And you came home to perfect weather. You missed the ice storm.

Being retired is great! We extended our stay at Disney World because the weather where we would be headed was bad. We stayed at Hollywood Casino Campground in Bay Saint Louis, MS, because we had to get our tire fixed.....REALLY! By delaying our return home, we managed to miss some cold weather. Now it is cold in Florida, so I guess we got out of there at a good time.

We were hoping you would take the cold weather back home. Thursday morning it was 29 degrees down here in Cocoa Beach, FL with 20 plus winds. The Cat was cozy and warm just rocked a little bit.

I guess we got out of there in the nick of time. :) We always stop at the KOA in Chattahoochee, FL. It was cold the night we stayed there on our trip home, but not as bad as it was last night. Scruffy said it got down to 14 deg. Now, that's cold. Scruffy and I were both born in Northern Illinois, and lived there for 43 years, and we've had to endure a lot of cold weather. But that was then, and this is now. That cold weather just goes right to our old joints.

When we say we get stiff in all the joints, we don't mean we're out having a good time. :)
