12Volt 27" class LCD

Post by jetskier on 2/4/2009, 7:19 am

After I fried my inverter, I thought I might try to convert all the little appliances to 12V. Right now I have an old 27" tube tv that was a hand-me-down from our house. It's big, heavy and requires AC power (hence the inverter). I've seen a couple LCD TVs that use an external AC/DC converter that steps down to 12V DC. Anyone know of any models that may utilize this. Most of what I've seen are older models that aren't in production. I've seen some AC/DC TVs on some trucker and 12 volt based sites, but I want to see if old Walmart, Sears, or a local store might carry something I can rewire. Rewiring is fun!

Jetskier, I just happen to have a Pro Watt 1750 in new condition. Put it in the classified a couple months back. If you're looking to replace yours with another one, I'd like to make you an offer you can't refuse. Cool PM me if you're interested.

For LCD ac/dc TVs, check this web site out:
