Wildcat 31TS

Post by kwf904 on 1/5/2009, 1:52 am

First topic message reminder :

Has anyone seen this new model? It looks real interesting. I also see some new interior colors. I thought I had my mind made up on the 28rkbs, but now I think this new model is worth looking at.

Bob,

Thanks for the first hand review. That floorplan really has me interested, even though I can't do anything for a couple of more years.

We have a 31ts and we LOVE IT!

Post by Woodrome on 2/8/2009, 1:18 pm

[left] We had a 2001 Wildcat 27rl. It was damaged during Hurrican Ike. When we took it to the shop for repairs, the dealer had just gotten the 31ts. The moment we stepped it, we knew we had to have it. Ours does not have the faux rock walls, just around the fireplace. The fireplace and TV are too cool. It has corian countertops, alum. wheels, electric awning, freestanding table, ceiling fan. I love the day night shades and big sunroof in the livingroom. It has the same look as the expensive rv's at half the price. We have had a few problems, the bedroom slide kept sliding in. (try to sleep when the slide is creeping in Sleep ). Dealer fixed it after 2 trips to the shop. Problem solved. I also love the shoe hole at the door, so you are not tripping over shoes left at the door.

Looks good. I like the shoe hole - that's a good idea, and something that we 29rlbs owners could probably do by utilizing the bottom of the trash compartment.

I noticed your roll of paper towels on the counter. If Forest River didn't include a paper towel holder, you could mount one beneath your cabinets.

Yes, they included a papertowel holder, just have not installed. I'm still trying to deside the best place. We just got it in November.

Ours is installed under the cabinet over the sink. Very convenient. We have a strip of velcro that goes around the roll when we travel. We forgot to put the strip of velcro on once during our last trip, and we had a pile of paper towels stacked neatly on the floor. :)

I especially like how your recliners are set up to enjoy the view. Just kidding, thanks for the photos, I think this is the one we will get if ours ever wears out. That shoe hole would be a god-send!!

I loved the comment about the bedroom slide retracting on its own. That could be a bit scary if it happens in the middle of the night! Thanks for sharing the pictures!

okay guy i actually have the 31ts, brand new. and i gotta say i love it. the only thing i would change is 50amp service with second ac. i have 15k ac, 16" tires, trash the factory matress for a 400$ pillow top from sam's as it is a true queen. the tv in the rear shows no glare for those of you talking about that and the living area is very spacious. faux stone wasnt may fav but i was looking for the best bang for buck. without spending 40-50k you just cant get everything you want in this price range. and im not convinced you can in the 40-50k price range. if anyone has questions about it let me know i would be happy to answer them

There is no such thing as THE perfect RV. Even those who spend upwards of 2 million can't get everything they would like to have. That's why people cumulatively spend billlions every year trying to get as close as they can with the floor plan that trips their trigger the most.

Of course, I can't speak from experience on this...it's just what I've been told. Wink

You mention the need for another ac, how hot has it been while you were out?

Re: Wildcat 31TS

As part of our order/deal the dealer is installing a 2nd A/C in the bedroom when the 31TS comes in. It will have a separate 20 Amp power cord right next to the 30 Amp one in the side of the trailer. Same type of connection. We know from our current 30LSBS that in 90+ degree heat down here in the south the 15K A?C has a hard time, especially cooling off after towing it all day. I couldn't image how bad it would be with the standard 13.5K unit. I echo what several have said that there should be a 50 amp option.

Re: Wildcat 31TS

Post by houstown on 6/4/2010, 6:48 am

We have been using our new 31TS since early in the year. We had a Jayco previously that we really liked. At least I thought I did until I got to know the 31TS. I can honestly say that I have not found 1 thing that really buggs me about this RV. I've even come to tolerate the fake stone. Love the roominess and the Lazy Boy's. Disappearing TV is great and the lift mechanism is fine so far. Isolated bedroom and hard door is great for privacy. The lack of counterspace is not as issue for us. I would rather have less counter space and more open floor. The 15k air conditioner has been adequate so far, but summer is not really here in Alabama yet. This model offered us the best combination of features and price in the 30-35 foot class. It pulls very well with the duramax dooley but the truck won't get above 10 mpg and that's on a level pull with a soft foot. Anyone looking for a rig this size would do well to take a look at the 31TS Wildcat.
