dinette replacement with table and chairs

Post by jamesc47 on 1/3/2009, 8:02 am

I replaced my dinette with a table and chairs. The table and chairs came from IKEA and work perfectly. I cannot get over how much room their is when you get the dinette out. Getting it out was a snap, just a few screws in each one. Since the carpet was laid first during manufacturing, no flooring problems. The table was $179.00 and the chairs were $14.99 each. I store the chairs under the bed when traveling.

Any Pics? We were thinking of doing this also, but use the storage under the dinette benchs for storage.

You got a great idea. Like that idea very much and the extra room.

That looks nice. Very innovative table for small camper space.

Did/do you have any issues with the slight slant down of the slide making the table uneven or do you feel as though you are leaning any in the chairs?

just wondering.

My Cat had the table and chairs option from new, and I think its great. But as Promisedland stated they is a noticeable lean on the slide, But I can still have a full cup of tea (Beer).

Just returned from IKEA with the new table, very impressed with the quality. Tomorrow I start removing the dinette and putting in the table.

We have an IKEA in MA on the southside of Boston and purchased 4 really nice bookshelves for our home library. Beartoo is right, the quality is great.

As we were wandering through the IKEA store I was struck many times by the thought that much of the stuff that they sell could be used in an RV.

If you all have an IKEA near you and you haven't been there yet. you're missing a real treat.

Keep plugging IKEA my eldest daughter works at one of there stores as a Manager here in the U.K. I also think that £ for £ ($ for $) you can't beat there price's for quality. I have a full fitted Kitchen and a bed room at home from IKEA.

Dinette is out and table is in, what a difference. It didn't take much to get the dinette out and put the table together. The DW likes the room and so do I. We won't have to put the slider out to get to the bathroom or refrigerator on the road. Can't wait to go on our final camping trip this season in 2 weeks.

Dinette is out and table is in...

Beartoo,

Can't wait to see the pics. Did you get the folding chairs, too? How comforatble are they?

We have looked at a square, wood table at Walmart that folds up (like a card/game table). You can also buy matching chairs that fold and have a fabric covered cushion seat. Right now we are leaning to this option.

Thanks.
