Pictorial instructions for posting photos - using servimg.com

Post by Scruffy and Tater on 12/17/2009, 2:40 am

Hopefully these instructions will help and not confuse matters even more.

In the first photo, in the line of icons below the subject, the arrow is pointing to an icon. Find the icon, place your cursor on it, and left click.

A servimg window will open. Left click Browse. This will open your files. In your files, find the photo you would like to upload. Double click your photo. The file name of your photo should now be in the line. If it is, left click Host.

A different servimg window will open. It will have 3 lines to choose from. For a photo that will be the correct size for this forum, highlight (left click and drag the arrow across the url) the bottom line, then right click on the highlighted url. This will open the little window that says Copy. Left click the word Copy.

Left click the icon to the right of the icon you used previously.

A little window will open with a blank line. Place your cursor on the line and right click. Now your url should be on the line. Left click OK.

Your photo should be on the page.... most likely at the beginning of your message. To move it, click on the photo (either left or right)(little boxes should now be on the 4 corners), click Edit (in your browser), and Cut. Place your cursor where you want the photo and in Edit, click Paste.

If you want to add more photos, click Preview (right next to the Send button). When the preview opens, scroll down below the preview pane to the "work" area, and repeat the above steps. To put a space between photos, place your cursor at the bottom right corner, click the arrow that points left (on your keyboard), and press enter. This should bring your photo down a space. Do this between all of your photos. Using Cut and Paste, arrange your photos in the order you'd like. Add captions above or below your photos, and Send.

You can open another window in your browser and switch back and forth between these instructions and the message you are working on.

Good luck.

Glad I could help. There are photo instructions for making a signature in a "sticky" near the top of Meet the Members, also. (hint)

That looks like a nice camping spot.

Tater.

Nice tutorial. I know a lot of folks struggle with attaching images.

I noticed you used a camera for your screen shots. You can use the PrtScn button on your keyboard (should be on the upper right) to take screen shots in place of a camera. After you press the PrnScn button it loads the image into the clipboard (copy/paste). Then go into a photo program (I use Microsoft Photo Editor) and paste as new image in the "edit" menu.

then you can crop the image and save it.

jetskier,
Thanks. I didn't know that. The pointer doesn't show up, but I can paste one in. I used Paint to test this out. This will give me much better pictures if I do another tutorial. I've done Posting Photos and Making Signatures - what's left? I'm eager to give this a try.

Yeah, the print screen routine momentarily turns off the pointer for the image.

oldemer1,

It's one of our favorite spots. Winefield campground on Clark Hill Lake. It's on the Georgia side of the lake. It's a finger out into the lake so we have water on 3 sides.....22 bucks a night!! Clark Hill has some really great sites on it...only problem is the Corp of Engineers closes them from Oct-April. Winter is the best time to camp here.

Good job Tater .

Tom , the corp of E. has campgrounds on all the lakes below clark hill also.
We stayed at Mislte Toe Sp on Strom Thurmond lake at augusta,ga and its lake side campgrounds are nice like that. a good portion of them have some million dollar lake views .
You can make a reservation , but not for a perticular spot. first come first serve.

Thanks MMiller.

Phillip, we'll definitely have to get down to some of them. I don't think I've ever seen a site like that one up this way.

It was the day we picked up our new Cat. The salesman took the shot. I do like it and we love the Cat, we haven't spent any camping time in it yet.
I hope spring comes soon.
