New exterior wiring for DSS coax cables

Post by ptalbot on 6/23/2009, 4:34 am

Looking to place an exterior receptacle with 2 coax f style connectors into the entertainment center area on my 2007 32QBBS. Thinking a good way in would be in between the marine speakers offset from the infrared receiver. Cables would come in behind the drawers, just like the marine speakers and I could route up into the cabinet wall where the rest of the A/V wiring resides. Anybody done something like this to their Cat? What do you think of the approach? Thinking of using a box like this: http://www.shoprvparts.com/product.do?no=14517F

Thanks in advance for your advice and experience.

I went with the box listed in the link above. Mounted it just below the IR sensor on the outside of the Wildcat and ran the cables in behind the entertainment center doors and up into the wall where all the other jacks are. Replaced the wall plate that housed the SAT/Inside Cable jacks with a four position keystone plate and now have dedicated cables for the DirecTivo. I'll post pics when I get a chance.
