Oxygenics shower head

Post by oldelmer1 on Mon Jul 28, 2008 5:44 pm

Just saw this in a e-mail from CW. Pretty good price if you are thinking about one.

http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/product/oxygenics-body-spa-rv-showerheads/5006

We have one, it uses very little water, but I find its noisy and splashes over the shower doors cause of the pressure is much greater than the original one.

I did turn the pressure down and it stopped splashing over the doors. Laughing

Anyhow, good price for it.

I got one of those and had the same splash problem you did. My DW disliked it so much I had to change it back.

AVid,

I understand, I changed ours back to the original one too. But then decided to give it one more chance. If you turn the pressure down, way down, it works fine. I was always use to using full pressure on the old one, so I naturally turned the water on full force with the new head, splashing everywhere.

Try it again, but cut back on the pressure and you should be OK.

Exactly, less pressure is what will stop the splashing and it doesn't effect the spraying of the water for rinsing your body off.

Plus your hot water will last longer.

Tom, you are presenting a good argument for trying one of these shower heads!

Mark,
Well, we use to run out of hot water before when the DW would shower and then I would shower right behind her. But now, I don't get the cold shower as before.

Hmm, it was always me taking my shower second, and getting the cold water, whats up with that!!!!!!!

But anyhow, no cold water now, so it does save on hot water too.

That could have something to do with it! I always wait until the HW heater cycles then I go take my shower...time permitting.

I had the oddest thing happen on the last 2 trips. I turn the water off at the shower head, when opening the shower head again to rinse, the water was hot, not cold like it had been in the past. And when I say hot...I mean HOT!!! I don't know what changed, but something did...

Yeah, mine was always cold too.

With the Oxygenics shower head, you can turn the valve and have the water dribble out, instead of completely shut off. I think this helps some with that blast of cold water. ITs still cool, but not COLD!!!!.

Does this Oxygenics head still mount in the factory holder like the factory one?

Cummins2500hd,

you can use the same hose, so the end will fit into the existing holder. Although it is pretty top heavy, I would not trust it to stay in the holder while on the road. I took it out of the holder, and slipped the hose down and let it rest into the round ring.

I did buy the correct holder for it from Camping World, it holds it much better. But I just out this on 2 days ago, so we haven't been on the road with it there yet.

I am very jealous of you Americans and your Camping World stores. Sounds like a store I would like to browse through. I haven't seen anything that stocks as many items as people mention CW stocks. Lucky You!

Check out their website Camping World If you can't go there, you can at least browse their selection from the comfort of your PC and maybe see if there's a store close to you on your next visit if you're close to the U.S. Border.

Thanks, good to know. And yes, I am about 2 hours to the US border in either direction. Live just east of Toronto if that means anything to you.
