Latest Addition

Post by cummins2500hd on Mon Jul 21, 2008 9:48 pm

SO my wife decided she wanted someway to hang her flag and a way to have light outside the camper beside a lantern or the camper lights...

So this is what I came up with (sorry for the messy basement background)

Do you think the 12" stakes will hold it in the sandy sites in myrtle beach?

The stakes are long enough but you might need a wider base, maybe 12" x 12"?? Looks good!!!

The biggest base i could find that will adapt is about 9 by 9 but it looks kinda funny on the lamp. it is fairly sturdy and will stand by itself thats why i thought the stakes will just keep it in place during some breezy times.....

Guess we will find out.

Just cover it with sand and rock.

BTW I like your sign in your avatar pic. Did you make that yourself? I'm looking for ideas!

Looks good! Funny our wives must think alike. I am in the process of building something similar. Will post pics when done. I was thinking flag on one side and personalized sign on the other. We will see.....still in the scheming process.

To hide the base, you could take a styrofoam wreath and fill it with silk flowers - maybe stick in a butterfly or two - and put it around the pole.

If you could put a large enough hole in the bottom of a plastic flower pot, you could fill the pot with sand or gravel, and plant silk flowers in it.
