Dual Pane Window option

Dual Pane Window option
New to the forum, FR, and WC. I'm in the middle of buying a 2009 28RKSB Wildcat that is being ordered from the factory. They have a new Dual Pane Window option and the dealer doesn't have anything on site with this option nor do they have any real info on these windows. I'm not sure how long this option has been out, but dealer claims just recent. I'd think dual pane windows would be a wise upgrade, but I'm having trouble adding the option without seeing these windows or at least pictures.
Do any of you WC owners have this option or know anything about them?
Thanks!
Earl

Re: Dual Pane Window option
First of all,
This is the first that I have heard about the dual pane windows, but I would think they would be a great upgrade. The only concern I would have would be fogging.

Wecome to the forum
Would think the windows would be a good insulation feature, probably better for winter than summer. However, winter limitations for use may be offset in underbelly insulation
The potential for fogging would be something I would try to investigate. Also, the amount of time one will use the rig when the windows would really be useful, may be a consideration. Again, welcome and enjoy your new cat and the forum.

Re: Dual Pane Window option
I believe this is a new option from FR on the Wildcat, never heard anyone else say this was an option before.
From reading over at RV.NET, everyone always recommends if you can get dual pane windows, to get them.

Re: Dual Pane Window option
Welcome, were glad to have you.
Yeah, this is a new option. It would be nice to have them, if you are going to need them. As was stated earlier, dual panes would be valuable during winter camping. So, if you plan on camping a lot during the winter, hold out for them. If not, then don't sweat it.

Re: Dual Pane Window option
Save the extra money and put it towards gas. As poorly insulated as most RVs are, dual pane windows are not going to make enough difference to justify the price tag. About all they'll ever do is cut down on window condensation in the winter. You can buy window insulator kits that will do the same thing for a whole lot less than this costly add-on. IMNTBHO

Re: Dual Pane Window option
Thanks for the info and welcoming me!
Newest options on the WC:
Skylights in slide out (2)
Dual Pane Windows
8' Cubic Refer
3 Drawers under the Jack Kife Sofa in the slide out
I got a qoute today on the dual pane windows of a grand! I don't camp during the winter, so I'll pass for that price. Thought I'd add the option to lower outside noises in the trailer and to add resale value, but a bit rich for me. I did order the larger refer option though. I didn't get the skylights in the slide out due to more that can leak and they would flood too much sunlight into the trailer.
If anybody wants to know, I ordered my WC with the following options:
Hide-A-Bed
Day/Night shades
Upgraded decor wood fascia on main slide out
Black framed tinted safety glass windows
Ceiling fan
Black tank flush
Hydraulic landing gear
Raised panel refer front insert (wood)
15K BTU A/C
Receiver Hitch
8 Cubic refer
Thanks again!

Re: Dual Pane Window option
The next trailer will have dual panes plus anything else that increases the R value. In cooler weather they keep the trailer warmer and condensation down and in warmer weather it's easier to keep the trailer cool. A larger fridge is on the list as well!
