What is everyone using for lubing the slider gears??? I see that the manual says no to any type of grease do to the grease collecting dirt. I was thinking about spraying the sprocket and gear guide rail with clear silicone spray, but I wanted to ask to see what others are using.

We bought a new 27RL in August of 09. I love it but my husband has already started looking at 'bigger and better' models. He now wants to buy a Sundance 3300QS which is a quad slide. Our unit isn't even a year old. We have checked with local dealers and it looks like we would lose about 7,000 dollars if we trade right now. Is there any financial justification for us to keep our 2010 27RL for another three years and then trade it for the RV that he wants? Any opinions would be helpful. ...

I unpacked everything into the new camper - and now I am wondering if you have to have special sized hangers for the closet. The sliding doors won't close with the hangers on the rack... wondering if anyone has had this issue. Do you have to find smaller hangers, or unscrew the rack and move it back (if you even can)?

Hi,

As a first time fiver , lots of previous camper exp.,, nervous about finding diesel stations, and getting lost etc,,trying to deal with turning around etc,,,is there a noticable difference as the 28 is about 5 feet shorter. Also planning on a lp generator ,,should I consider solar as well,,,any other comments welcome as to must have options. I like the 31ts because of the fireplace and tv setup,,but prefer the rest of the floorplan of the 28,,non bedroom slide,,better kitchen layout.

My wife has been complaining about the external speakers being too loud inside the trailer. I looked inside the compartment and noticed that there isn't any sound dampening on the back side of the speakers and wondered if anyone on here has tried to build some sort of box or place sound proofing inside the cabinets to keep the inside quiet. Pictures would be appreciated if anyone has a fix for this.

As you know we are here at the Bay Hide Away RV park on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This area is slow to recover from hurricane Katrina. While driving around we came across this church that the storm surge from the hurricane had deposited along the side the road. Where this church was originally I have no idea, but it has been sitting in this ditch since 2005. The opposite side of the church was completely collapsed. This is truely a strange sight.

The last three reviews of Bay Hide Away RV park were 10/10, 9/10, and 9/10. How can a park be rated this high when the roads are gravel, the sites are gravel and require leveling, the WiFi is unreliable, and the park doesn’t sell propane? This park should never ...

Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the two main CG we are staying at.

Mt Rushmore KOA South Dakota

Rocky Mountain RV Park. Montana. Right outside the North entrance of Yellowstone.

Minneapolis NW KOA. Minnesota. We are staying here for a few days for a family function.

Any help would be great.

Seems like a good unit, hardly used made in 6/06 they're asking 18500 for it seems like a l good price, anything else to watchout for? Im going back in a couple days to hook it up to power and check appliances and such. Will a forest river dealer be able to check service history if i give them a vin number? thanks

A few weeks ago I had ordered the free arm for the A&E electric awning that allows you to tilt it to shed water. My son helped me install it last night. It was a pretty simple process. While we were doing this my son noticed that a star washer on one of the other pins was missing. This was an accident just waiting to happen. Due to the design, the front arm recesses into the back channel. Some of the pins are short so they can fit inside the back channel. The star washer cannot go onto the ...

Our trip to Bay St. Louis, MS hasn’t been without issues. We dewinterized at our first stop in Memphis, TN. While we were flushing antifreeze out of the lines I thought it was taking longer than it should for the furnace to warm up the trailer. Hot air was coming out of the floor vents but the air flow didn’t seem to be as strong as I remembered it. I wasn’t sure if it was my imagination or not. I should have investigated this sooner because it turned out that a cover over one of the unused vents ...

We love this place - that's all there is to it! I've written about it before, and posted photos. Go down the list of reviews, if you need or want info. We've seen two flocks of wild turkeys so far. You'd think they would go into hiding with Thanksgiving just around the corner. One was pecking at a nice shiny hubcap on a motorhome. That owner might wonder where all those little dents came from.

Here's a new photo - I'll probably post a couple more before this trip is over.

Having just purchased a 2010 Wildcat model 25RL we are anxiously waiting to take delivery hopefully next week. This particular model suits us as my driveway will only take a unit no longer than 28' and for under that length this model works well.

There is always something that you don't like and I have two...I wonder how others feel about these?

1. The left side slide (dining room area) is too small and difficult to sit at the free-standing table for anyone who isn't ultra-thin. Forest ...

I've been looking for 1 of these for a pretty long time to replace the old 15 inch analog TV that we have in the bedroom.

So, I just found this

Seems to be a really good price too, $169.00

Has good reviews and is 15.8 inches wide. The opening on the shelf in our 29RLBS is 15.5 inches.

So, I ordered one today. Will let you all know what it's like when it arrives.

We bought our Cat used last spring. It is a 2006 29BHBP. We have some generic owners manuals.

Would like to get an original brochure. The brochure would list the options, actual capacities, weights, etc. I did contact FR and they said a brochure would no longer be available.

Wondering if any of you would have an extra one or would be willing to copy me the info in it?

Owners manual doesn't list a lot of the things.

Hello all,

I'm seriously looking at generators. Have any of you mounted one in your Wildcat? What about the exhaust?

Am interested in the Honda EU3000SI. Not the Handi--SI will deliver 25 amps vs Handi's 12 amps and for less money. The tradeoff, of course, is weight: 134# vs 77#. I could not lift the heavier gen myself. Would like to use the generator at home during power outages, as well as possible boondocking...mainly to power up batteries (that's my next topic...)

The replacement is called the 32QBT. There are some differences, most notably a 3rd slide for a bunk room closet/storage, a side entry into the bunk room, and the shower and sink enclosed in the bathroom. The rear bedroom and the kitchen/living area ...

Help this diesel rookie out, I have a question about truck stops. Do the diesel pumps the truckers use have card readers for credit and debit cards? Also, I know not to dawdle at these pumps so is there anything else I should know about these pumps? Any tips or other information about the truck stops is appreciated.

Bathroom Sink

Has anyone ever toyed with the idea of replacing the bathroom sink? It is so dinky and small I am always hitting my head on the medicine cabinet. I try to be careful. Besides the DW is always fussing about the faucet being to close to the sink, (I know I can replace the faucet) the only way she can clean between the sink and faucet is with a Q-tip, Any ideas?

Not sure which topic to put this in, but Big Dave did you get a new truck? The forum photo at the top looks like a F350 DW, but your signature reads Chev Crews Cab 2500 HD 4x4 .
