Using trailer propane bottle for outside cooking?

I am thinking about adding a T and another valve in the line between the bottle and the 5th wheel regulator so that I can attach a 30' hose and use a gas grill or boiling rig. Has anyone on here done something like this and if so please share you mod. I have also thought about putting the above setup and dropping down a line strapped to the frame with a quick connect at the end. With all that propane on board it is a shame not to use it for cooking. The wife and I never cook in the camper and the propane is currently only being used for the fridge while in transit or the furnace during the winter. Any pics would be appreciated.

This is what I do except I did it before the regulator so I can use high pressure appliances outside. I may be mistaken but I don't think you can use a quick connect with high pressure propane. You might have to tie in after the regulator if you want to use quick connects.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think about the quick connect not handling the pressure. My portable grilling and boiling setups all have their own regulators so I will just tie in before the regulator like you said. Do you just unhook the house line and hook up the other one or did you put in a T with a valve so the house line can remain connected?

I did this to my Wildcat the first year I owned it (2001). I simply tied into the gas line prior to the regulator (using a "Tee") and added a shutoff ball valve. I then had a 15' hose made up to fit the shut off and a fitting on the other end that attaches to any gas using regulator. I simply coil it up and stow it on the top of the tank when I travel. When it comes time to use it, I simply drop it down and come out under the trailer and turn on the valve. This allws me to use my grill under the awning during rain days. I have had many, many people ask me show them how I did this each time I camp. It was easy and cost me about $50 in parts.

I have a long high pressure hose that I hook straight to the propane bottle. The portable units have their on regulators.
Most of the time I carry a small 25lb to use for outside cooking

Camping World will be glad to sell you hoses and adapters, but they are not cheap.

I have thought about doing this, but so far I just carry an extra 25# bottle; we also do most of our cooking outside. I have one of those propane trees than can hook several appliances and a lantern up to one bottle. This

I use a LP tee, has all the shut off valves built in, no hose, no gas. When we want to cook outside we hook up the hose,(one end regular LP left hand threaded connector, the other end is an adapter to disposable bottle). Works great.

I have a Camp Chef 3 burner stove that I use to run off of it's own 10lb tank. Last summer I replumbed the WC. At the most rearward elbow I replaced it with a T, ran a few more feet toward the back along the frame, elbowed it to the curbside and added shutoff and a quick disconnect.
The Camp Chef had a regulator already but they also make a non-regulated hose with a quick connect. I have had no problems with the propane pressure.
The hardest part is finding the correct quickconnect. I think they are in business with the cell phone charger people, meaning no 2 fit the same.
