Zion River Resort - 09/18 & 09/19/09

It's amazing how vast our country is, and it is brought home by the drive from I-15, exit 16 to this campground. We did pass through one substantial town on the way, but Virgin, UT is simply a wide place in the road on the way to Springdale, UT and Zion NP. But Virgin is where Zion River Resort is and that's where we stopped for two nights.

This is a very nice CG right on the Virgin River. Had all the amenities that a camper could ask for and was well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful and could answer just about any question regarding the NP. The sites were concrete pads with a grass area alongside. They were also wide and long (a big plus anytime).





Nicely paved streets, and long, wide concrete pads. A camper's dream!




I couldn't resist including this shot. We had just had a brief rain shower and the rainbow appeared in the sky right above the Cat!

We stayed there this summer while visiting Zion National Park. It was 105 degrees outside, the pool was refreshing .... very very nice campground. Was really a good resting place after towing through the 'tunnel'. Those that have driven through Zion will know exactly what I mean;)

We came in from the west off of I-15 and didn't have the opportunity to drive through the tunnel. Did you need the escort? If you came from the east you must have gone to Bryce Canyon NP. How was it?
