Hillsborough River State Park
Tomorrow we pack up and leave Hillsborough River State Park after two glorious weeks. As if the park did not offer enough in the form of trails, scenery and great sites, there is also Lazy Days RV just a ten minute ride. Lazy Days is a campers Nervana. There are hundreds of new and used rv's, a Camping World, Cracker Barrel, and FLying J not to mention a new Ford dealer right across the street. If you get hungry, you can jump in the truck and drive fifteen minutes or so to Plant City to get your fill of Strawberry Short Cake. Tampa is just a few miles west and Ybor City is a nice attraction for a sunny cool afternoon. Strolling trough the old town with its cigar factories and rehabed buildings. The park is located on the Hillsborough River and canoes are available to rent at the Park's Cafe which also rents bikes. Want to cook your own pancakes? They have tables with grills in the middle where you can sit with your party and drip batter on the skillet. Novel. Anyway, we'll mark this place for a repeat visit. Hope you're all staying warm, Won't belong before this Wildcat is back to Virginia and the rigors of living a "sedentary" life. Happry Trails

Re: Hillsborough River State Park
That is the best state park in Florida. Like you said you never have day without doing something. Did you go and eat at Kojaks on 2808 Gandy Blvd great house of ribs famous for Oklahoma style. They should be having the Strawberry festival going on about now.

Wow, we missed Kojaks. May have to stay another week!. The Strawberry Festival starts March 4th. Don't think I have enough holes left in the old belt!

Yummmmm! We were in Plant City a few weeks ago eating that strawberry shortcake. It was a long drive for us - from Leesburg where we have relatives.
