Post by grover on Fri Apr 25, 2008 1:02 pm

We cook this over the campfire, let it cook and simmer all day.
2 pounds meat your choice (stew meat)
1 32 once can tomato sauce
1 large onion chopped up
celery as desired
6 good sized potatoes bite size pieces
1 can of red kidney beans
1 can corn
2 tablespoons of steak seasoning
carrots as desired
and whatever else you like that is the beauty of it you can't make it wrong then let it simmer as long as you can the longer the better.

Sounds great. This would be good in my cast iron oven - I don't use it nearly enough. I can see us now, camped next to the lake at Loyd Park (Grand Prairie, TX).... put the stew on to cook, take a walk, take a nap, read a book, birdwatch...... can't get much more relaxed than that. Smile

I think I would have to cut the recipe in half. It's just the two of us. Of course, if the neighbors get a whiff, we might have company. I don't think my Dutch oven would hold the full recipe.
